NinGenius Online BETA Troubleshooting
Problem: Some Questions or Answers are BLANK (Levels 14, 17, and more)
We are making a major change with all the graphics, in order to make the app size smaller so that the load time is shorter. As we make these changes there may be some glitches with missing or altered graphics. However, these glitches should be each fixed within a few days, so please keep trying to use the app during our graphic optimization efforts.
Problem: Students get a BLACK SCREEN when they click the link
The black screen simply means the web-based application is loading. Most home and teacher wireless networks will handle this within a few seconds. However, most school/student networks will take 1-5 minutes to load. We are working on making the load time much shorter through image size optimization, and hope to bring the load time down to 15 seconds or less. We may also try to add a loading status bar. In the meantime, patience during this loading time pays off with quick, seamless gameplay for the rest of the playing session.
Problem: Student ninja customizations (robe, skin, and eye colors) are not saving
Currently students can personalize their ninja each time they log in, but the customized colors are not saved and reloaded the next time they log in. Eventually this will be fixed to allow each personalized ninja to be saved, but it is a known problem for now.
Problem: The Teacher Portal is slow or NOT DISPLAYING student data when sorting
There is a little clunkiness with functionality on the Student Summary tab in the BETA version. You may need to click a different tab and then the Student Summary tab again to reset the data, or try other strategies to show ALL or to show sorted data. At times you may need to close the whole browser tab and then log back in again to get all student data visible again. Some features are not yet functional in certain browsers.
Question: How can I delete students that are duplicates or no longer needed?
We should soon have a "delete student" option, but for now you can create a new class called "Deleted Students" (or something like that), and can edit any student that is not needed (by clicking the pen next to their name in the Student Summary tab) to add them to the Deleted Students class and remove them from any other classes. This will at least allow you to keep the student accounts organized and sortable by class until the delete function is working.
Question: Which BROWSER works best with NinGenius Online?
One of the purposes of BETA testing is to find which browsers work best with our application and secure server. Currently Google Chrome has been working well. Your feedback is appreciated as we explore this question. Click the "Contact" tab above to send feedback or questions.
Problem: The Teacher Portal does not load or show Student Summary data
Whenever the Teacher Portal seems buggy or doesn't load, try these fixes until it loads properly:
1) Click the "Refresh" button and wait for it to stop blinking as it downloads data
2) Reload the browser tab (CTRL-R or COMMAND-R)
3) Quit the browser, then reopen the browser and use the History drop-down menu to reload all prior tabs
4) Go into your browser Preferences, and clear the Cache (it may say "clear cached images and files"), and then click the Teacher Portal link to open a fresh tab in your browser
Click HERE for detailed instructions on clearing the cache in Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, Edge, etc.

Problem: Only part of the screen is displayed
Click Ctrl-Plus or Ctrl-Minus (use Command on a mac) to zoom the screen in and out until it fits best. You can also try using the "full screen" button if your device has one, or the "maximize" button on your browser window.
Problem: The link to NinGenius is blocked by our school server
First have students go to their school email account and try clicking on the link they received in their email. That sometimes gets through the school's blocking technology better than the link on the NinGenius.net website. If needed, contact the appropriate school or district technology personnel, and ask them to approve the following websites:
